ROAD CRASH RESCUE

THIS COURSE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING NATIONALLY RECOGNISED UNITS OF COMPETENCY:

  • PUASAR024 Undertake Road Crash Rescue

  • PUASAR022 Participate in a Rescue Operation

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This nationally recognised road crash rescue course provides the knowledge and skills required for those who may be required to undertake road crash rescue operations as a member of a road crash rescue team. This unit covers the competency required to gain access to and extricate entrapped casualty/s from vehicles travelling on the road such as cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks and semi-trailers while minimising the potential for further injury and preserving the integrity of evidence. This course is for members of rescue teams that require responders to access casualties using a range of techniques, and to operate specialist equipment to undertake the rescue.

COURSE DETAILS

  • Duration: 2 days

  • Delivery Mode: Face to face

  • Where: Unit 2, 84 Solomon Road, Jandakot WA 6164.

  • Amenities: Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Kitchen facilities are available for those who wish to bring their own lunch. A lunch bar is 100m away.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must have the language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and physical capabilities to meet the performance criteria of this unit. (For further information or if you have any concerns regarding LLN and/or physical capabilities please contact the office)

  • Participants must have the ability to read and write English and be able to perform practical and theoretical assessment as required.

  • Students must wear standard work wear, enclosed safety shoes, long shirt and pants.

PRE-REQUISITES

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a pre-requisite for Participate in a Rescue Operation.

UPON COMPLETION
Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and wallet sized card for:

  • Rescue Equipment in a range of situations (cutters, spreaders, rams, airbags etc.)

  • Remove casualties from entrapment

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is recommended for participants who are required to work in confined spaces, for the mining, resource, construction and manufacturing industries. This confined space training course is nationally recognised and includes safe entry and working in confined spaces. It includes the planning and preparation for entry of confined spaces; including hazard identification and implementing controls as well as Work in Accordance with (WIAW) an Issued Permit. Training can also be carried out as refresher course for experienced participants who meet the pre-requisites.
