LOAD RESTRAINT

  • TLIA1001 Secure Cargo

  • TLID0015 Load and Unload Goods/Cargo

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This nationally accredited course provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to secure cargo, load and unload goods and cargo, securing and protecting the load and completing all required documentation. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit. This course is for all vehicle drivers light and heavy, freight handlers, and all other persons involved in the management of transport operations.

COURSE DETAILS

  • Duration: 8 Hours

  • Delivery Mode: Face to face

  • Where: Unit 2, 84 Solomon Road, Jandakot WA 6164.

  • Amenities: Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Kitchen facilities are available for those who wish to bring their own lunch. A lunch bar is 100m away.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must have the language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) and physical capabilities to meet the performance criteria of this unit. (For further information or if you have any concerns regarding LLND and/or physical capabilities please contact the office)

  • Participants must have the ability to read and write English and be able to perform practical and theoretical assessment as required.

  • Students must wear standard work wear, enclosed safety shoes, long shirt and pants.

UPON COMPLETION
Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and wallet sized card for:

  • Load restraint:

    • Principles of load restraint

    • Forces acting on loads

    • Safe load principles

    • Restraint methods and performance standards (Tie down and Direct restraint)

    • Vehicle load and unload requirements

  • Introduction of labelling and requirements for:

    • General freight

    • Dangerous goods

    • Oversize loads
